10. Why Was Angelea Preston DQ'd from Top Model?

The pipper from the 716 was a clear favorite to win this year's Top Model All Stars competition—until she wasn't. One minute Angelea Preston was vamping it up in Greece, the next, she was mysteriously disqualified. Preston promised a press conference to clear the air, only to back out at the 11th hour.

9. Did Justin Bieber Get a Girl Pregnant or Totally Not?

The teen singer has denied it up and down, but as of mid-December, fan Mariah Yeater was still insisting that her baby son was sired by the Beeb. DNA tests have reportedly been taken, but a definitive yes or no on the issue, agreed upon by all parties, has yet to emerge.

8. What Was Up With Beyoncé’s Baby Belly?

Fans may preach that it's none of our business, but we still can't help but wonder why Beyoncé's bulging belly got smaller all of a sudden. Or looked like it did. Or whatever was going on there!

7. Does Courtney Stodden Own Any Clothes?

It's no secret that the child bride and husband Doug Hutchison are shopping their own reality show, and running around half-naked is a good way to score one. But let's just hope there's at least one suit in Stodden's closet. You know, just in case the TV thing doesn't pan out?

6. What Really Happened to Natalie Wood?

Thirty years after her drowning death off the coast of a California island, Natalie Wood is in the news again, thanks to the captain of the yacht at the center of the tragedy. Dennis Davern says he didn't tell the authorities the whole story back then, but exactly what that whole story is, well, it's still unclear.

5. Will The Hunger Games Be Any Good?

All of our excitement over the U.S. remake of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo culminated in a box-office flop. Let's hope that The Hunger Games renews our faith in book-to-film magic

4. Is Pippa Middleton Single or What?

Technically, of course, she is. For the sister of the recently landed Duchess of Cambridge is not married. But the love life of Britain's most eligible derriere garnered plenty of speculation anyway, especially after Middleton reportedly split from boyfriend Alex Loudon in November.

3. Is Kate Middleton Pregnant? What About Now?

Please don't ask us to check again.

2. Will Demi Moore Ever Change Her Twitter Handle?

She's announced she's divorcing hubby Ashton Kutcher, but as of this very second, the world's most famous Twitter handle, @MrsKutcher, still belongs to Demi. She says she has no immediate plans to change it, but how long can that last?

1. Charlie Sheen—What Was That All About, Anyway?

Machetes and goddesses and warlocks and winning and seriously!?
We may never know.

Hollister Bedbug Infestation Shuts SoHo Store

What's the only thing that could harsh the mellow at Hollister's "epic" SoHo store? Bedbugs, dude.
The good times are indeed over -- at least temporarily -- for the popular teen clothing company after the bloodsucking bugs were found in the store.
A spokesman confirmed the outbreak, but said that the bedbugs were only "affecting certain isolated areas of the store."
Not true, says a store source.
In an email to Gothamist, an employee detailed the store's slow response to complaints about the bugs and claims that the problem is much larger than the company would have people believe.
The first report of bedbug bites in the store was three weeks ago by and employee and a manager, but that was ignored. On Tuesday the 29th, an employee found that she had been bitten, and also found a live bedbug and an exoskeleton on her borrowed Hollister outfit. All of the employees were forced to continue working even though more and more bugs were being discovered.

Multiple employees were covered in bites. Hollister was more concerned about losing money than the health and safety of their hundreds of employees and thousands of customers. If they were concerned in the least, the store would have been shut down the moment the first bugs were discovered. Just today they closed the store down, but who knows how many employees and customers were exposed to the outbreak in the past three weeks, only jeopardizing the rest if the stores in the area as bedbugs spread like wildfire.
The company claims it is working on eradicating the bugs in the 40,000-square-foot store as quickly as possible.

Abercrombie Bedbug Outbreak Closes SECOND Store: South Street Seaport Location Found With Infestation

Abercrombie

NEW YORK — Abercrombie & Fitch Co. said Friday that it closed a second store in New York due to a bed bug infestation.
The preppy teen clothing seller said it closed a Hollister store on Thursday in the SoHo neighborhood of New York. That location is expected to open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
It closed a second location, an Abercrombie & Fitch store in the South Street Seaport, on Friday for the same reason.
Abercrombie's flagship New York store on Fifth Avenue has been tested and is not affected by bed bugs, the New Albany, Ohio, company says.
Abercrombie says it asked New York City's Mayor's office how it should deal with the problem.
Eric Cerny, a spokesman for the chain, said that the company tested all three stores in Manhattan, and there was no infestation at the A&F Fifth Avenue store in midtown.
"It appears focused in lower Manhattan," though the company is still investigating the issue by "conducting its own testing and analysis," he said.
Cerny said that the normal return policy is in place and noted that as a precaution returned products will be quarantined and tested. Inquiries from customers have been "minimal," he added.
The city's health department said it offered guidance to the company and that it is proactively treating the store. While the department said it knew of no other instances of bed bugs at city stores, it is the responsibility of companies to treat bed bug problems.

Abercrombie & Fitch Scales Back At Shoot, Fires Model For Eating At Wrong Time: Report

Abercrombie & Fitch really scaled back for its recent catalog shoot, Page Six reports. The female models were supposedly paid only $2,500 and the men $1,500 for a week's worth of work (and $13 for food each day), and the pretty faces were forced to put in 13-hour days with their eating and workouts monitored, a source said.
So strict were the rules that Belgian male model Florian Van Bael was reportedly fired for snacking on a croissant at an inappropriate time. His agent told Page Six, "I don't think it's a question about coffee or croissant, it's just a question of respect during an important job. "Abercrombie recently brought back its controversial "A&F Quarterly" to help boost sales, which were down 23 percent last year. The chain was also recently fined $1.05 million by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for "violating federal immigration laws by failing to adequately verify that employees in its Michigan stores were eligible to work in the U.S." according to WWD and is being sued by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for not hiring a Muslim job applicant who wore a hijab.

Abercrombie & Fitch To Be Protested For Automatically Spraying Perfume In Stores

Teens Turning Green, a student-led group that advocates for the elimination of toxic chemicals in the environment, will speak out against the brand's practice of automatically spraying the store's signature Fierce fragrance from track lights, complaining that the blend saturates the air and poses a threat to public and environmental safety.

Abercrombie Offers Compensation To Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino To Stop Wearing Its Clothes

Last week Abercrombie & Fitch banned a customer from its clothes. This week the retailer has gone one step further by offering to pay its customers to stop buying its clothes.
Women's Wear Daily reported that Abercrombie, purveyor of moderately-priced East Coast prep, is so worried about its brand image lately (we can't imagine why) that it has extended what it cleverly calls a "A Win-Win Situation" to "Jersey Shore"'s Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino: stop wearing our clothing and we'll give you money.
The company released this statement on its website:
"We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino's association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael 'The Situation' Sorrentino and the producers of MTV's The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response."
It's a bald-faced move by Abercrombie, which seems to think that the PR damage it will incur from publicly insulting the MTV reality stars is no worse than the PR damage the "Jersey Shore"'s shellacked, fist-bumping guidos have already done to the retailer.
While they're at it, they may want to also put at end to these t-shirts currently being sold on a fake "Abercrombie Fitch" website:

Clothing Prices To Rise 10 Percent Starting In Spring

Clothing Prices

NEW YORK — Shoppers looking to update their wardrobes may find their money won't stretch as far.
As the world economy recovers and demand for goods rises, a surge in raw material and labor costs is squeezing retailers and manufacturers who have run out of ways to pare expenses.
Clothing prices had dropped for a decade as tame inflation and cheap overseas labor helped hold down manufacturers' costs. During the recession, retailers and clothing makers cut frills and experimented with fabric blends to keep prices in check.
But cotton has more than doubled in price over the past year, hitting all-time highs. The price of synthetic fabrics has jumped roughly 50 percent as demand for alternatives has risen.
Clothing prices are expected to rise about 10 percent in coming months, with the biggest increases in the second half of the year, said Burt Flickinger III president of Strategic Resource Group.
Brooks Brothers' wrinkle-free men's dress shirts now cost $88, up from $79.50. Levi Strauss & Co., Wrangler jeans maker VF Corp., J.C. Penney Co., Nike and designer shoe seller Steve Madden also plan increases.
More specifics on price increases are expected when clothing retailers such as J.C. Penney Co. and Abercrombie & Fitch Co. report financial results this month.
"All of our brands, every single brand, will take some price increases," said Eric Wiseman, chairman and CEO of VF Corp., which makes clothes for The North Face, Nautica, Wrangler and Lee brands. Cotton accounts for half the production cost of jeans, which make up about one-third of VF's sales, Wiseman told investors in November.
Higher costs also will affect how clothes are made. Clothing makers are using more synthetics like rayon and designing jeans with fewer beads and other embellishments. Shoppers also will have fewer color choices.
Retailers are trying to figure out whether the consumer demand that gave them strong holiday sales will last. The fear is higher prices will nip it in the bud. Stores that cater to low- and middle-income shoppers will have the hardest time passing along price increases.
"We have been so used to deflation for years and years," said David Bassuk, managing director in the retail practice of AlixPartners. "Customers are going to be surprised."
Janice Mignanelli of Washington Township, N.J., doesn't want any surprises.
"'I'm not going to spend any more than $50 for a pair of jeans," said Mignanelli, a stay-at-home mom shopping at The Garden State Plaza in Paramus, N.J., last week. "I'll just have to cut back on the extras."
Even affluent shoppers, whose spending has rebounded, may bristle.
"It does give me some pause," said Jimmy Franco, a 47-year-old publicity executive and fan of Brooks Brothers' shirts. "Instead of buying two, I may just get one and a pair of socks. There's a certain amount of money that I'm prepared to spend."
Cotton has jumped to a 150-year-high, hitting $1.90 per pound on Friday. That's more than double the price a year ago and just ahead of the $1.89 record during the Civil War, according to the International Cotton Advisory Committee. But the Civil War-era price isn't adjusted for inflation, and the cotton group says it doesn't have an adjusted figure available. The government inflation calculator only goes back to 1913, but at that point $1.89 had the same general power buying power as $41.63 does today.
Cotton prices began soaring in August of 2010 after bad weather cut harvests in major producing countries including China, the U.S., Pakistan and Australia.
Restrictions on exports from India, the world's second-largest cotton exporter behind China, have also produced cotton shortages. On top of that, worldwide demand for cotton has risen as the global economy improves.
Raw materials account for 25 percent to 50 percent of the cost of producing a garment. Labor ranges from 20 percent to 40 percent, depending on how complicated it is to make, Bassuk said.
On the production side, many Chinese factories that shut down temporarily in the depths of the recession still haven't returned to capacity. As they ramp up, they're finding they have to pay workers more because of labor shortages, said John Long, retail strategist at consulting firm Kurt Salmon.
Until now, retailers have been shifting production to lower-cost regions like Vietnam, turning to new materials and absorbing cost increases.
But they're reaching the limit, according to Kevin Burke, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association.
Mom-and-pop stores are most vulnerable because they don't have as much power to negotiate better prices with suppliers as, say, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. But even the world's largest retailer is feeling the pressure.
"There's no doubt there may be some price increases that come up, but we don't want to ever let that be the first answer ... that just because cotton prices are up, that we're automatically going to pass that on to consumers," said Mike Duke, Wal-Mart's CEO and president in a recent interview.
Mary Hutchens, owner of Full of Beans, a 25-year-old children's clothing store in Chevy Chase, Md., worries that price increases could be a death blow. She said she has to discount heavily to stay in business and isn't sure she'll be able to pass along the costs.
